Amid rumours of his joining the Congress party, Telangana TDP working president A Revanth Reddy today asked what was wrong in his meeting the Congress high command for joining hands against the TRS government.
Speaking to the media in the wake of rumours that he was contemplating joining the Congress, Reddy clarified he had gone to Delhi for filing cases against the TRS MPs and MLAs.
"We have worked in coordination with the Congress party against the state government and in the Singareni Collieries Employees' Union elections. I met the Congress high command in that context. What is wrong in it?" he asked.
However, he had
earlier said that he had not met Congress leaders in Delhi.
The TTDP leader also said he would be launching a padayatra across Telangana from December 9.
Meanwhile, in Vijayawada, speculation is rife in political circles that Reddy may join the Congress shortly. The TDP high command is also not quashing them. Reacting to the rumours, Nara Lokesh, IT minister and son of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, said, "The reports on Reddy are only mere rumours. How can I respond to such media reports?" He said that he had information that Revanth Reddy has gone to Delhi only on court work.
