Kodangal MLA and Telangana TDP Working President A Revanth Reddy is likely to defect to the Congress.
Reddy, who is in Delhi today, reportedly met Congress boss Rahul Gandhi and some AICC honchos in this regard.
If the shift happens, Reddy is apparently likely to be made Working President of the Telangana Congress, too. The Congress in Telangana is currently headed by Uttam Kumar Reddy, and has Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka as Working President. While there is a full pantheon of CM contenders in the Congress making it a top-heavy and potentially unruly and faction-ridden place to be in, Revanth Reddy perhaps sees himself as boss of a non-entity in the TDP in Telangana.
Reddy has been the most vocal of TDP leaders in Telangana (and one of the last surviving after KCR got 12 of the TDP's 15 MLAs apart from other Telangana TDP leaders to defect), and was reportedly working for an alliance of the TDP with the Congress on Telangana to take on the TRS, an alliance proposal which some TDP leaders claimed did not have the blessings of TDP boss Chandrababu Naidu.
Meanwhile, Reddy himself refuted the talk about a possible defection, stating that he had no such intentions, and that he was in Delhi for some personal work and not to meet any Congress leaders.
