Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has said that the State Government would take all possible measures to develop Warangal as the second biggest city in the state after Hyderabad.
Speaking to media persons at the conclusion of his three-day tour of Warangal, KCR said that several problems being faced by the people in the district had been identified, and THAT their solutions would be prioritised.
For instance, he said, the government would take up creation of massive housing arrangements for slum-dwellers. Stating that there were 70 slums in Warangal, he said that Rs 100 crores would be sanctioned for the scheme, and that the works would begin in the next five months.
He also announced the construction of community buildings for Muslims.
The Chief Minister expressed his government's resolve to develop Warangal as a textile hub on the lines of Surat in Gujarat.
He also praised the spiritual centre being planned by industry baron Ramoji Rao, and expressed hope that it would attract a lakh visitors every day. (INN)
