Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao today inaugurated the newly built district collecterate complex in Warangal. The complex has been built on 6.73 acres of land and has a built-up area of 2.5 lakh square feet.
Talking about the complex, he stated that it had been constructed to reflect the great past of Warangal city.
Speaking on the occasion, the leader said that the government would change the name of Warangal (Urban) and Warangal (Rural) to Hanmakonda and Warangal respectively. He added that the orders for the name changes would be issued within the next two days. He also announced that his government would set up a college in Warangal.
He then revealed that the Palle Pragathi and Pattana Pragathi programs would be launched on July 1 and would run till July 10, and that the Haritha Haram program would be conducted alongside the other two.
Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar, ministers Errabelli Dayakar Rao, Satyavathi Rathod, and Vemula Prashant Reddy, Warangal Mayor Gundu Sudha Rani and other officials also took part in the ceremony.
Before inaugurating the complex, KCR also laid the foundation for the construction of a multi-speciality hospital on the premises of the old central prison. The hospital will reportedly be spread across 60 acres and will have 24 floors. It will also have a 2000-bed capacity, 35 super speciality departments, and a helipad on the terrace of the 24th floor.
He participated in other developmental programs and inaugurated a new building on the premises of the Kaloji Narayana Rao Health University.
While in Warangal, KCR paid tributes to the statue of Prof K Jayashankar at the Ekasila Park.
