The Warangal police today granted permission for the Praja Prasthanam Padayatra of YSRTP founder president Y S Sharmila.
They asked Sharmila to resume her padayatra from Shankaramma Thanda of the Narsampeta Assembly constituency from February 2, 2023.
The police declined permission to Sharmila to resume her padayatra from January 28 as requested by her.
The police also imposed 15 conditions on Sharmila to be able to continue her padayatra.
Following the permission by the police, Sharmila has decided to resume her padayatra from February 2.
She said that her padyatra would be the beginning of the end of the rule of CM K Chandrashekar Rao in Telangana.
She claimed that the CM was scared of her yatra as it was receiving overwhelming response from the people of the State, and that KCR was clueless about the opposition being expressed by the people to him during her yatra.
She also alleged that the State government was imposing restrictions on her yatra the kinds of which had never been imposed on any other opposition political leader of the State, and that the CM was trying to suppress any voices which questioned him and his rule.
She claimed that her goal was to find out the problems of the people, and solve them after coming into power in Telangana.
The padayatra has already covered the Mulugu, Narsampeta, Parakal and Bhupalapalle Assembly constituencies of the undivided Warangal district, and will now cover the remaining eight constituencies there.
It will enter the Palair Assembly constituency of Khammam district after covering the Warangal East, Warangal West, Station Ghanpur, Jangaon, Palakurthi and Mahbubabad Assembly constituencies.
Sharmila has already covered 3,512 km as part of her yatra, and is now targeting the milestone of 4,000 km in the next 25 days.
The party is planning to hold a massive public meeting in the Palair Assembly constituency to conclude the padayatra.
