Congress MLA and former minister D K Aruna on Friday declared that she would be compelled to wage a "war" if the TRS government failed to announce Gadwal as a separate district in deference to the wishes of the people of Gadwal.
The former minister performed a special puja at the Beechupalli Anjaneya Swamy temple and prayed Lord Hanuman to help realize the dream of the people for Gadwal to be a district.
Speaking to mediapersons later, Aruna said the the Gadwal Assembly constituency in the heart of the district had all the basic facilities including educational institutions, hospitals and transport services aplenty, and demanded that the State government include Gadwal in the list of the proposed new districts in the State.
If the government failed to do so for political reasons, the people of Gadwal would revolt and teach a fitting lesson to the TRS, she warned.
District MLAs Chittem Rammohan Reddy and Sampath Kumar were also present.
