Senior Congress Leader S Chandrashekar To Join BJP

In what is surely a jolt to an already weakened Telangana Congress, senior leader and former minister S Chandrashekar is reportedly ready to join the BJP soon.

Speculations regarding the defection have been rife ever since BJP national Vice President of the party D K Aruna reportedly visited Chandrashekar's residence and held lengthy discussions with him to convince him to join the saffron party with the assurance that the party would support him in all his political endeavours.

It is being said that the former minister is now in the process of fixing an auspicious time to make the switch, and will likely hold a massive public meeting at Vikarabad to announce the decision.

It is perhaps pertinent to mention here that Chandrasekhar had previously had very close ties with Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao during his stint as a member of the TRS, so much so that many believed that he would be made the first dalit CM of the state by Rao following the formation of the state in 2014. However, Chandrasekhar left the TRS and joined the Congress soon after the state was formed.
