Hyderabad | 20th June 2018
Senior Telangana Congress leaders are reportedly moving pawns to get TPCC chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy removed from his post.

As part of it, they met AICC chief Rahul Gandhi today and reportedly lodged complaints against Reddy.

Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, D K Aruna, Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and others were present in the meeting with Gandhi.

The leaders are said to have complained to Gandhi that Uttam Kumar Reddy was taking unilateral decisions without consulting senior leaders. Komatireddy apparently told Gandhi that Uttam Kumar Reddy's behaviour alienated people, and that the party would not get even 15 seats if he continued as the TPCC chief till 2019.

Aruna reportedly told Gandhi that the leaders would strive for the victory of the party if another leader was appointed in place of Uttam Kumar Reddy.

The leaders are also said to have complained to the Congress supremo that Reddy was in touch with Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao through "MyHome" Rameshwara Rao.

Reacting to the complaints, Gandhi is said to have assured the leaders that he would call for another meeting to discuss the issue threadbare.

Speaking to the media after the meeting with Gandhi, the leaders however said only that they discussed with Gandhi ways to strengthen the party in Telangana.

"We said that we would bring the party to power in Telangana in the 2019 elections and that we were working in that direction. A secular party needs to come to power at the Centre in the 2019 elections. Rahul Gandhi will become the Prime Minister of the nation," they said. They claimed that they had no differences among themselves, and that Uttam Kumar Reddy didn't come to Delhi along with them as he had come to Delhi just two days back.

“We have also given a report with 40 senior leaders' names. We urged Gandhi to speak with all of them separately by spending a full day. We also asked Gandhi to discuss how to win the 2019 elections with these senior leaders and take their opinions into consideration. We feel that Gandhi will convene a meeting with us and have sought the same," they said.

Revanth Reddy, Duddilla Sridhar Babu, Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy, Venkatram Reddy, Akula Lalitha, Banda Karthika Reddy and several others were also present.
