BJP national Vice President and former minister D K Aruna today alleged that the TRS-led state government had leaked information about the hike in the fitment for the government employees and teachers in the state to benefit in the recent elections in the two graduates' constituencies of Warangal-Nalgonda-Khammam and Hyderabad-Rangareddy-Mahabubnagar.
Speaking to the media on the matter, the leader claimed, "The PRC announcement was not the result of the ruling party's love and respect for the state's hard-working employees. It was instead a way for them to secure the two MLC seats they have
just won."
"Of course, this is hardly surprising - in their desperate attempt to win the seats, the party's leaders even shelled out more than Rs 100 crore to gain support among the voters of the two graduates' constituencies. The party adopted several other underhand means as well just to win the elections," she added.
Aruna then flayed the government for having "cheated" the unemployed youth in the state by pushing up the retirement age of the current employees.
She also demanded that the government now immediately release the PRC arrears to the employees saying that delaying the implementation of the new pay hike till April 1 would hurt them economically.
These allegations come shortly after similar ones were made by BJP leader and incumbent Hyderabad-Rangareddy-Mahabubnagar MLC, N Ramachander Rao, who
lost his seat to Surabhi Vani Devi in the elections. Like Aruna, he had also claimed that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had deliberately leaked information about the
increased fitment announced recently before the elections to ensure the wins.
