A group of politicos from the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) lodged a complaint against Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader Revanth Reddy at the Karimnagar 2 Town Police Station.
According to reports, the TRS members charged the TDP leader of trying to arouse fear among the masses by
wielding a gun while travelling to the Telangana Ranabheri on the 25th.
The cameras of various television channels had caught the TDP minister getting into Devender Goud's bullet-proof car with a gun in his hand.
The TRS leaders expressed doubts if the weapon was truly licensed as was claimed by Revanth Reddy. And if it was, the TRS group asked, was the gun licensed in his (Revanth's) name?
The TRS group also declared that they would approach the local court if the police fail to take action against Revanth.
TRS members had on Wednesday launched a
series of attacks at the TDP for seeking to conduct the Telangana Ranabheri with the face of Chandrababu Naidu gracing the banners.
Upto 100 TRS members were arrested by the Karimnagar police that day for disturbing the order in the region.
A large number of TRS activists had staged a dharna in Medak, and refused to allow the 90+-vehicle-strong TDP convoy to head towards Karimnagar. It was at this point that a few TDP leaders opted to shift to the relative safety provided by Goud's bullet-proof car, and Revanth Reddy's gun was spotted by the media.
