Revanth Reddy Joined TPCC At Naidu's Behest: TRS

Telangana Finance Minister T Harish Rao today lashed out at former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP head Chandrababu Naidu for trying to "infiltrate" Telangana by using the Congress.

Speaking after participating in some developmental programs in Siddipet district along with MLA Rasamayi Balakishan, he accused Naidu of sending former leaders of the TDP, like newly appointed TPCC head A Revanth Reddy, into the Congress, and securing big posts for them.

"Our government has spent Rs 20 crore to set up a market yard, godowns, and a sub-market yard in the area. We are committed to working towards the welfare of the people of our state. This is why they support us. They will not support the TDP or the Congress as was proved clearly in the last few elections in the state," the minister claimed.

He then continued his attack against the TDP chief and fumed, "As there is nobody left to represent him in our state, Chandrababu Naidu has sent his followers into the Congress and other parties. In 2018, the TDP chief had to bite the dust even after forming an alliance with the Congress for the Assembly elections. Our people rejected him as they saw him as Andhra Babu."

"As I said, the TRS and our government both stand for the development of the state and the welfare of people, and this commitment is what endears us to them. The Congress in undivided AP, on the other hand, has always denied us access to electricity, water, and even farmer support mechanisms. Now, the TRS regime under Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao's leadership is providing everything the farmers, poor, elderly and minority communities need. Several schemes have been implemented for the benefit of the people. The attempts of the Opposition to erode our popularity will not work," Rao added.

The comments come right after Telangana TDP head L Ramana officially announced that he would be switching over to the TRS fold soon.
