While a section of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS)
hurled stones at Telangana Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Forum chairman Errabelli Dayakar Rao's house, a larger section of the party wrecked havoc at the site of the Telangana Ranabheri iteslf.
Even before the Ranabheri commenced, TRS activists set the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) banners and flags afire, while raising the slogan of "Jai Telangana".
Television coverage of the of the miscreants at work at the venue of the Ranabheri in Karimnagar show Telangana activists destroying the arrangements made for the event, and stamping on the TDP flag.
According to sources, about 100 TRS workers were arrested at the Ranabheri. Security has been beefed up in the region, and the situation is being termed as tense and sensitive.
Telangana leader Ravinder Reddy, who was among those arrested for disrupting order in Karimnagar, suffered a heart attack, and was immediately rushed to a hospital.
The TRS and other activists from the Telangana region had
vehemently opposed the proposed T Ranabheri. Errabelli refused to be swayed by the threats meted out to party, and announced that they would conduct their program at any cost (at the cost of Errabelli's window panes, it turned out).
