Minister for Tribal Welfare Satyavathi Rathod found fault with Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan for levelling "baseless" remarks against the State government, saying that Soundararajan was crossing the limits of the Governor's mandate.
Speaking to the media, Rathod alleged that Soundararajan was working like an activist of the Bharatiya Janata Party, and was not eligible to be Governor.
Stating that there was no gap between the Raj Bhavan and Pragathi Bhavan, the minister said that visiting the Raj Bhavan or not was a personal choice of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao as he had the powers to decide that, and that nobody could pressurise the Chief Minister on that matter.
In Warangal, speaking to the media, Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao said that Soundararajan was not acting in a dignified manner, and was tarnishing the image of the the Governor's post.
"Tamilisai Soundararajan is not getting the due respect from the State government because she is not acting like a Governor. She is working under the direction of the BJP," Rao alleged.
Taking to Twitter, TRS MLC Kavitha said that the Raj Bhavan had turned into a political stage to defame the TRS government and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.
"The office of the Governor of Telangana has turned into a political stage that is determined to defame the TRS govt and CM KCR garu. The statements of Hon'ble Governor come at a time when they realised that the BJP driven smear campaigns can't con the people of Telangana," she tweeted.
