Telangana Government Clarifies Governor's Doubts On TSRTC Bill
The TSRTC would continue to function in its existing form and entity even after absorption of its employees into government service, CS Santhi Kumari said.
The State government has informed Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan that the TSRTC would continue to function in its existing legal entity and form in all other respects after absorption of its employees into the government, and that no employee would be put to any hardship in terms of salaries and allowances.
Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari on Saturday gave a point-by-point clarification to all the doubts raised by the Governor over the TSRTC merger draft Bill through a letter sent to the Governor's secretary.
"The TSRTC will continue to function in the existing form and entity even after absorption of its employees into government service. The Corporation Board will continue as the Apex Body to the TSRTC under the provisions of the RTC Act 1950. Thus, the nature of the corporation will not be changed till the bifurcation issues, which are under examination by the Government of India, are settled," Santhi Kumari said.
The interests of the existing employees would be best served by absorption into the State government, which in fact was one of the main objectives of the proposed Bill, she said.
In view of her clarifications, the Chief Secretary requested the Governor to recommend the proposed bill to be introduced and considered in the Telangana State Legislature.
