A family of 3 was brutally murdered in Rajendranagar in the beginning of this week.
The Rajendranagar police on Tuesday solved the mystery behind the murder of a woman Geetha and her 13-year-old son Chandu. However, it turned out to be a triple murder, as Geetha's husband Yadaiah was also found murdered on Monday.
According to police, Yadaiah's body was found in a water tank behind the Rajendranagar MRO office on Monday. His body bore marks of injuries inflicted with sharp edged weapons. A heavy stone was tied to the body before it was thrown into the tank.
Earlier on 1 October, 35-year-old Geetha and her 13-year-old son Chandu were found murdered at their house in Manikyamma Nagar Colony.
After being informed from local residents about a foul smell emanating from a house locked from outside, the police broke open the lock and found the dead bodies. The victims were found brutally murdered - their throats were found slit with a sharp-edged weapon. The woman also had a head injury.
Geetha's husband Yadaiah was reported missing that day. However, Yadaiah, too, was found murdered on Monday.
Working on very few clues available, the Rajendra Nagar police solved the mystery and took the main accused, 25-year-old Praveen, into custody.
According to the police, Praveen was a neighbour of Yadaiah, and harbored some enmity over petty quarrels. On the night of 27 September, he, along with his friends Naresh and Fayyaz, came to Yadaiah's house. They took him to an isolated place on the pretext of discussing some matter.
Yadaiah was then brutally murdered, and his body was thrown into the water tank.
Later, they went to Yadaiah's house and killed Geetha and her son Chandu. Yadaiah's 2 daughters, who were in their grandmother's house, were saved.
Police say that the main accused Praveen was a previous offender. The other accused, Naresh and Fayyaz, are said to be absconding. (INN)
