Two Brutal Murders Reported In City

Two gruesome murders today have sent shockwaves across Hyderabad, raising serious concerns over rising violence in residential neighbourhoods.

In the first incident, a 17-year-old girl Pavitra was brutally stabbed to death by her cousin in Bapuji Nagar Basti under the Mushirabad police limits.

According to initial reports, the accused had allegedly been pressuring her parents for marriage consent. When his proposal was rejected, he reportedly attacked Pavitra in a fit of rage, fatally stabbing her before fleeing the scene.

Locals alerted the police, who registered a case and launched a manhunt. Investigators are examining the exact sequence of events and the motive behind the attack, and efforts are on to trace the accused and record statements from family members and neighbours.

In a separate incident in Saket Colony under the Jawaharnagar police station limits, a real estate businessman Venkataratnam was murdered in a shocking daylight attack.

The victim, who was travelling on his Scooty, was allegedly chased by unidentified assailants near Foster Billabong School. The attackers reportedly intercepted him, opened fire, and also stabbed him multiple times.

Passersby witnessed the horrifying scene and alerted authorities.

Police said that they were examining CCTV footage from the area to identify the culprits.

Preliminary information suggests that the attack may be linked to past enmity or financial disputes, though officials have not ruled out other angles. Forensic teams recovered a sharp-edged weapon from the spot, and special teams have been formed to investigate.

Both incidents have left residents shaken and raised concerns about safety in the city's neighbourhoods. Police have assured the public of swift action, and urged them to remain vigilant while also cooperating with the investigations.
