Telangana Political Joint Action Committee (TPJAC) chairman Prof. Kodandaram on Wednesday announced war against elected legislators who failed to resign from their posts for the cause of Telangana statehood.
Addressing the Maha Dharna being organized under the TPJAC at Indira Park to mark the beginning of the JAC's general strike, Kodandaram said the war against the Telugu Desam Party and Congress members who failed to resign from their posts would be intensified.
Kodandaram said the Telangana leaders would mount pressure on these members until the Centre announces a clear decision on the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.
He called upon people to boycott these elected members, and added that the JAC would create awareness among people by installing flexi-boards with photos of members who "cheated" Telangana people.
The JAC convenor said that the state government could be paralysed with co-operation from all political parties, which would then help in putting pressure upon the Centre to grant statehood for Telangana.
Kodandaram also took objection to the High Court directing the state government to revive GO 177, which provides for stringent action against employees going on strikes and agitations.
He said these employees were being denied the right to seek justice from the court.
Slamming TDP president N chandrababu Naidu for
launching an agitation against corruption, he said that Naidu wore the mask of corruption to come to Telangana, and that the people of the region would not allow him to visit Telangana districts.
TRS Floor leader Etela Rajender questioned why lawmakers from the Congress and the TDP changed their stand when the Speaker Nadendla Manohar rejected their resignations, and why the elected members from the region of those parties are silent. (INN)
