» Telangana Movement: JAC Daily Protest Plan Until February 7 Deadline
Telangana JAC To Protest Daily
The Telangana political JAC has announced a schedule for daily protests until February 7, the new deadline it has set for resignations by MLAs and MPs.
The Telangana Political JAC, after another marathon meeting at the New MLA Quarters, has announced that it will continue the protests for a separate state until there is a much more clear statement from the Union government about the issue.
To this effect, it has said that the following forms of protest will happen over the next few days:
Feb 1: Picketing outside collectorates
Feb 2: MLAs and MPs fasting outside the Assembly
Feb 3: Human garland from Adilababd to Palamur
Feb 4: Blockade on Rajiv Gandhi National Highway
Feb 5: Protests on Kodada-Hyderabad Highway
Feb 6: Meeting of MLAs, MPs and MLCs of Telangana
Feb 7: Conference at Warangal
The JAC expressed happiness at the postponement of the Intermediate examinations, and demanded that the SI selection exams scheduled in February should also be postponed. It has also expressed support for the fast-to-death of Mandakrishna Madiga and the protests of all government employees.
However, the Telangana Congress leaders are increasingly angrier with the JAC and its convenor Professor Kodandaram. They've asked what the need is for the new February 7th deadline set by the JAC for resignations by all representatives of the region, after Chidambaram's statement yesterday, when it is clear that the Union government is taking concrete steps for the formation of a new state. They've said that Kodandaram himself should resign as Professor first, and set an example.
