The Telangana Political Joint Action Committee on Saturday sent an 11-point list of demands to the Group of Ministers (GoM) on Telangana.
The TPJAC demanded that Hyderabad be the joint capital of Telangana and the residuary state for a period of only 3 years. It opposed the Centre's proposal to make Hyderabad the joint capital of the 2 states for a 10-year period.
In his memorandum, TPJAC Chairman Prof. M Kodandaram said that there should be no change in the status of Hyderabad.
Prof. Kodandaram said that a tribunal should be constituted to decide issues regarding the sharing of water resources between the two states.
Similarly, distribution of power should be done in accordance with GO Ms. No. 53, and additional gas should be allocated to the new state, he demanded.
He also demanded that the administrative powers vested with the Singareni Collieries Ltd. should be not be interfered with. (INN)
