The Telangana Political Joint Action Committee might not support the Telangana Rashtra Samithi in the ensuing Assembly and Lok Sabha elections.
An indication to this effect was given by TPJAC's chairman Prof. M Kodandaram on Sunday.
Speaking to media personnel, Kodandaram slammed TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao for entertaining the "traitors" of Telangana.
He said that the TRS should stop admitting those leaders into the party who worked against the statehood movement. He was apparently referring to former minister Konda Surekha and her husband Konda Murali who have recently joined the TRS.
Further, the TPJAC chief indirectly condemned KCR for supporting the leaders who had the image of being "anti-Telangana".
He said that leaders like Tandur MLA Mahender Reddy, who recently joined the TRS, and Sangareddy MLA Toorpu Jayaprakash Reddy alias Jagga Reddy, will continue to face opposition by the people of Telangana.
By expressing these views, the TPJAC Chairman gave clear indications that he might not support the TRS in the forthcoming elections. However, he did not specify as to whom the TPJAC will support in the general elections.
He said that the TPJAC steering committee will soon meet to take a decision in this regard.
It may be mentioned here that Kondandaram and a few other TPJAC leaders have refused offers to contest the next elections, made to them by other political parties. (INN)
