Cyberabad Police Commissioner V C Sajjanar, along with along with Balanagar DCP P V Padmaja and ADCP A Ramana Reddy, Central Zone (Hyderabad) ACP Purushottham, Saifabad ACP C Venugopal Reddy, Balanagar Traffic ACP Srinivas Reddy, and other police officials, today inspected the storage of the ballot boxes of the GHMC elections held yesterday.
The ballot boxes of four wards - Somajiguda, Ameerpet, Sanathnagar and Khairatabad - have been stored in the strong-rooms set up at the GHMC multi-sports complex DRCC Centre at Sanathnagar.
The rooms have been equipped with a three-tier security system.
The first tier consists of patrolling teams; the second-tier consists of the Cyberabad Law and Order and Civil Police personnel; and the third consists of Telangana State Special Police (TSSP) personnel.
After his inspection, Sajjanar said that the boxes had been shifted amidst heavy security, and that the storage rooms too had been secured properly to prevent any misconduct in the counting of the votes.
"No person is allowed near the strong-rooms, and on the day of the counting, Section 144 will be enforced in a 1-km radius around all counting centres," he added.
He also instructed the police to ensure that the boxes remained secure.
Sanathnagar Inspector Chandra Shekar Reddy and other officers were also present the inspection.
