The Osmania University police have slapped a case against BJP MP Tejaswi Surya of Karnataka and other BJP leaders for conducting a public meeting without obtaining permission from them.
The case was booked following a complaint by the administrative authorities of the university.
The police have booked the case under Section 447 and Section 21/76 of Hyderabad Police Act.
Surya visited the university along with scores of party activists on the 24th of this month. However, the police stopped the MP and the activists at the NCC gate of the university by closing its entrance gates.
However, the BJP activists climbed over the gates and entered the university.
Surya later held a public meeting without taking the permission of the university or the police authorities.
