Hyderabad Commissioner of Police Anjani Kumar today announced that no political parties would be allowed to take out victory rallies in the limits of the GHMC.
Kumar said that all such rallies would be banned for 48 hours from Friday morning since the counting of votes following the GHMC elections is scheduled for Friday.
The Commissioner added that 15 counting centres had been set up in the GHMC area, and that elaborate security arrangements had been made at all the centres to prevent any untoward incidents.
He also added that only those having permission letters would be allowed to enter the counting centres.
The stringent security measures follow much furore regarding the alleged mishandling of the GHMC elections by the State Election Commission and the police force.
