The Telangana unit of the Telugu Desam Party in Karimnagar district will suffer another blow with three senior leaders preparing to defect to the ruling TRS along with their followers.
According to informed sources, the TTDP in-charges of three Assembly constituencies in the old Karimnagar district - Rajanna Sircilla party president Annamaneni Narsinga Rao, Husnabad constituency in-charge Peryala Ravinder Rao and Manthani constituency in-charge Karru Nagaiah - along with their followers will be joining the ruling party in the presence of party supremo and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Wednesday.
Curiously, all three deserting are from the home district of Telangana TDP president L Ramana.
Political observers feel that the fresh batch of defections will be another nail in the coffin of the TDP in Telangana. The existence of the TTDP itself was hanging in the balance, with some leaders having already embraced the Congress and the remaining ones planning to join the TRS for their political futures, they said.
