Hyderabad | 18th October 2021
Telangana Rasthra Samithi (TRS) president and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao today said that former minister and noted dalit leader Motkupalli Narasimulu would have a better future as he had joined the TRS fold.

KCR welcomed Motkupalli into the TRS at Telangana Bhavan with a pink shawl.

Appreciating Motkupalli for being the voice of the downtrodden, KCR said that the former minister was his close friend and former ministerial colleague, and was aware of all the problems and issues of the state.

"Narasimulu and I will work for the Dalit Bandhu, and need the support of people and leaders," KCR said. "Narasimhulu did not join the TRS for politics, but for its agenda for the welfare of the various sections of the state. Unlike for other political parties, politics is not a sport but a task for the TRS, which goes about it like a yagna to ensure the welfare of the people."

KCR also announced that Dalit Bandhu, which he said had gotten delayed by a year due to the coronavirus, would not stop, and that similar programs would be extended to the BCs and other backward classes upon the state getting more wealth in the future.

"Dalit Bandhu is a social responsibility, and will be continued for the dalits' empowerment. It will have no politics, and all dalits will get the benefits," he said.

The scheme would have Dalit Bandhu committees at the village, mandal, district and state levels for effective coordination, he said.

He also announced that the government would set up a Rs 4,000 crore dalit protection fund by adding Rs 10,000 for each and beneficiary who contributed the same amount.

"We are ready to spend a staggering Rs 1.70 lakh crore for the empowerment of the dalits. In 7 years Telangana saw Rs 23 lakh crores of transactions, and Rs 1.70 lakh crore for dalit empowerment is meagre. And the amount spent on Dalit Bandhu will increase in the future to a whopping Rs 10 lakh crore as the economy grows," he said.
