Several women in Telangana approached Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Saturday at Pragathi Bhavan and expressed their gratitude for sanctioning the Rs. 1,000 per month pension scheme for widowed/divorced/orphaned/unemployed women.
The women, in large numbers, expressed their happiness over the Chief Minister's scheme and exempting them from various governmental rules. They profusely thanked KCR, stating that his gesture instilled confidence in them when they were facing difficulties in their lives.
The CM took the opportunity and inquired about the working and implementation of several State government programs, schemes and measures from the women. Responding to his queries, the women replied that schemes including Kalyana Laxmi, free hostel meals, Anganwadi and power supply were being implemented well.
They also expressed gratitude for Mission Kakatiya as all the tanks and water bodies in their places were brimming with water.
Later, the Chief Minister reiterated that his government would support and empower women in the State.
