Telangana Telugu Desam Forum Convener Nagam Janardhan Reddy on Sunday stated that the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) would observe December 23rd as Betrayers Day across Telangana districts.
Talking to media persons at NTR Trust Bhavan, Janardhan Reddy reminded that the centre had announced that no action on Telangana would be taken until a consensus was reached by all parties on December 23rd, 2009, in direct contravention of its statement made on December 9th, 2009.
He pointed out that Congress President Sonia Gandhi had buckled to Seemandhra leaders' protests, and had gone against the statement made by Union Home Minister P Chidambaram that the Indian government would start the process of forming a separate Telangana state on December 9th.
Janardhan Reddy also demanded that the government made efforts to lift police cases against all students and others unconditionally, who participated in the statehood agitation across the state.
