Pointing out the "difficulty" faced by the Telangana government officials in handling the aftermath of the heavy rains over the past week in Hyderabad, and in providing relief and rescue to the affected people, the Telangana TDP today took it upon itself to aide civilians and mitigate the situation, and urged its colleagues to plunge into relief works.
T-TDP President L Ramana and working President A Revanth Reddy blamed the State government for the disastrous few days that the city has seen. They said that various localities, especially those in low-lying areas, were inundated following the downpour but had received little help from the government. They also slammed the government for allegedly not providing provisions such as drinking water and food to those affected by flood waters.
The helpless situation the government was in right now, despite the Skymet forecast, showed its competence and sincerity, they alleged.
Ramana and Reddy urged the leaders and workers of their Party to visit the affected areas and help the victims of the inundation, and also organize medical camps for providing free treatment to the needy in the submerged areas.
