Telangana Soon To Get 15 Mother & Child Care Centres
Following the success of KCR Kits, Health Minister C Laxma Reddy directed officials to prepare an action plan to set up more Mother And Child Care Centres in Telangana.
Health Minister C Laxma Reddy on Tuesday directed the officials concerned to prepare an action plan to set up more Mother And Child Care Centres in Telangana.
The minister was speaking at a review meeting with the officials of the health department.
The minister said that after the implementation of the KCR Kits scheme, there had been an increase in the number of pregnant women registering at government hospitals for delivery - the state government had so far distributed 1,06,213 KCR Kits to women delivering at government hospitals across Telangana, he said. This increase in the number of institutional deliveries at government hospitals meant that more Mother And Child Care Centres would be needed in the state - specifically, he said that 15 more centres would be needed in addition to the five that had been already sanctioned.
The minister also directed the officials to fill the vacant posts in the health department and improve the facilities in the government hospitals to provide better health services to people.
