Foundation Stone Laid For Medical College In Khammam
Telangana Health Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha said that the college was being built at a cost of Rs 130 crore.

The foundation stone for the construction of a government medical college building in Khammam city was laid today.
Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, Health Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha, Agriculture Minister Thummala Nageswara Rao and Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy jointly laid the foundation stone.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajanarasimha said that the college was being built at a cost of Rs 130 crore.
He also said that more primary health centres were being established in the Godavari catchment area, and that efforts were underway to provide super-specialty medical services to the people of the Warangal, Karimnagar and Khammam districts.
The Health Minister also announced that an organ retrieval centre would soon be established in Khammam, and that a regional cancer centre would be set up in Warangal with an investment of Rs 39 crore.
He also said that a vascular access centre was being set up in Khammam, and that ambulance services were being extended to all villages.
Agriculture Minister Nageswara Rao and Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy was paying special attention to the education and healthcare sectors in Telangana, and that steps were being taken to bring these sectors up to global standards.
