Telangana Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy today announced that the State government would introduce enhanced and more user-friendly services for citizens by implementing artificial intelligence (AI) and a slot booking system at all sub-registrar offices throughout Telangana.
He said that the slot booking system had already been piloted at 47 of the 144 sub-registrar offices across the State in two phases, and was set to be launched in the remaining 97 sub-registrar offices starting June 2.
During a review meeting with officials from the Stamps and Registration Department on Sunday, the minister mentioned that the slot booking system was designed to streamline the process for property buyers and sellers while delivering services in a transparent and corruption-free manner. He said that the initiative had been well-received, with 94% of users indicating their satisfaction.
"In the initial phase, since April 10, a total of 30,592 documents have been recorded across 22 sub-registrar offices. Following that, in the second phase starting May 12, 14,099 documents were registered in 25 sub-registrar offices, bringing the overall total to 45,191 documents. With the launch of the slot booking system, 3,000 more documents have been registered in Telangana compared to the previous method," he said.
The minister also said that an artificial intelligence (AI)-integrated chatbot Medha, available through the WhatsApp number 82476-23578, would help people find registration office locations and check slot availability. The bot would also provide information on various topics including registration fees for gift deeds, sale deeds, market values and more, Reddy said.
"Aadhaar e-signature is also being introduced to expedite the registration procedure in conjunction with slot booking. This feature is currently being tested in the sub-registrar offices of Armur in Nizamabad district and Kusumanchi in Khammam district, with plans for broader implementation across Telangana in the near future," he added.
As slot booking is being introduced throughout Telangana, officials have been advised to take the necessary precautions to prevent any technical issues.
