Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy announced that slot booking would be enabled for property document registrations from April 10.
Telangana Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy today announced that the State government would introduce a slot booking system for document registrations starting April 10, as part of efforts to enhance services at the Sub-Registrar offices across the State.
The initiative aims to provide citizens with efficient, transparent and corruption-free registration services, cutting down wait times and simplifying the process.
The minister also highlighted a growing concern among residents regarding the potential for double registrations of properties, and said that the State government was preparing to amend the Registration Act to prevent such incidents. A new Section 22-B would be introduced under Section 22 of the Act to address this issue, and several other States had already implemented similar legal amendments, he said.
The slot booking system will initially be launched as a pilot project in 22 out of the 144 Sub-Registrar offices across the State. These include offices at Azampura, Chikkadapalli (Hyderabad), Sadashivapet (Sangareddy), Qutbullapur, Vallabhnagar (Medchal), Shamshabad (Rangareddy), Saroor Nagar, Champapet, Ramagundam (Peddapalli), Kusumanchi (Khammam), Khammam (RO), Medchal (RO), Mahabubnagar (RO), Jagtial, Nirmal, Warangal Fort, Warangal Rural, Kothagudem, Armoor, Bhuvanagiri, Choutuppal and Nagar Kurnool.
To avoid delays caused by multiple submissions on the same day, the working hours at these offices will be divided into 48 designated time slots. Applicants can book their preferred date and time through the official website registration.telangana.gov.in. Citizens are advised to arrive punctually at their booked slot so as to be able to complete the process without delay.
For those without a prior booking, each office will accommodate up to five walk-in registrations daily from 5 to 6 pm, on a first-come, first-served basis, typically for urgent cases.
To meet high demand at certain offices, especially where more than 48 slots may be required, the government plans to appoint additional Sub-Registrars. As part of a trial, the Qutbullapur office in Medchal-Malkajgiri district has already deployed two additional Sub-Registrars and one extra staff member, increasing its daily capacity to 144 slots.
