CM To Launch Bhu Bharathi Portal On April 14

Hyderabad | 13th April 2025
The Telangana government is set to officially launch the Bhu Bharathi portal on Monday, April 14.

The revenue department will implement the Bhu Bharathi Act on a pilot basis in three mandals across three districts in the State on the day. Based on the outcomes from these initial trials, the Act is expected to be rolled out Statewide by June 2.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy held a review meeting with officials at his residence in Jubilee Hills to discuss the initiative today. During the meeting, he said that awareness programs about the portal needed to be conducted in all mandals across the State.

"Also, the Bhu Bharathi website should be simple enough for the average farmer to understand. It will be in place for at least a century, so it needs to be modern and designed properly to mitigate security risks," he said.

During a separate interaction with the media at the Secretariat, Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy said that the CM would present the Bhu Bharathi Act and portal to the public in honour of Dr B R Ambedkar's 134th birth anniversary tomorrow.

He also said that he would visit the pilot villages selected for the rollout of the Bhu Bharathi Act and portal across Telangana.

He said that the primary aim of the Bhu Bharathi Act and portal was to ensure the protection of all lands in Telangana.

He urged citizens not to immediately access the portal to check their land information, warning that a sudden surge in traffic could crash the system. The minister also said that efforts were underway to enhance the portal - developed by the Central government's NIC - by incorporating modern features to create a more advanced version. The portal's development would continue without affecting ongoing land registrations, he said.

The minister added that a forensic audit would be conducted into the alleged land irregularities that occurred under the Dharani system after implementation of the Bhu Bharathi.
