Telangana Political Joint Action Committee chairman M Kodandaram, on Thursday, warned against the suppression of the rights of the Telangana region and its people.
Addressing a meeting of the Progressive Recognised Teachers' Union at Indira Park, Kodandaram said that further suppression of Telangana people would not be tolerated. He said that the Telangana region has been suffering injustice for several decades, and thus remains backward.
He also condemned Seemandhra leaders for their interference in the formation of a Telangana state.
Kondandaram appealed to people to participate in large numbers in the Peace Rally to be held from City College in the Old City to Indira Park.
He also announced that September 1 to 7 would be observed as Mulki Martyrs' Week, and that different programmes would be organised across the region in this regard. Programs will be held in Greater Hyderabad (Sep 1), Adilabad (Sep 2), Nizambad (Sep 3), Karimnagar (Sep 4), Warangal (Sep 5) and Mahabubnagar (Sep 6), he said.
MLC P Sudhakar Reddy, TNGOs leader Vittal, TRTU President Harshvardhan Reddy and others also addressed the meeting. (INN)
