Govt To Ensure Smooth Ganesh Immersion In City: Ponnam
The minister said that the government had made comprehensive arrangements for a smooth conduct of the Ganesh immersion in Hyderabad, scheduled for Sep 6.

Telangana Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar today announced that the State government had made comprehensive arrangements for a smooth conduct of the Ganesh immersion in Hyderabad, scheduled for Saturday.
Prabhakar, along with GHMC Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi, GHMC Commissioner R V Karnan, MLC Balmoor Venkat, HMDA Commissioner Sarfaraz Ahmed, Khairatabad Zonal Commissioner Anurag Jayanthi, Hyderabad District Collector Dasari Harichandana and other officials, inspected the arrangements at Hussain Sagar's Crane 4 and 5 points.
On the occasion, he instructed officials to implement adequate measures to ensure the smooth conduct of the immersion.
In a media briefing later, Prabhakar, who also serves as the in-charge minister for Hyderabad district, said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy all departments were working in coordination to facilitate a peaceful Ganesh celebration.
"We have drawn up detailed plans for the Maha Nimajjan in collaboration with the Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Samithi. So far 1.5 lakh idols have been immersed within the GHMC limits. To ensure a smooth immersion process on Saturday, we have arranged 40 cranes, including one Bahubali crane, around Hussain Sagar. Together with the Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Samithi, we will see that the Khairatabad Maha Ganapati Nimajjan is carried out smoothly," the minister said.
"To prevent any untoward incidents, we have implemented stringent security measures, deploying 30,000 police personnel. Additionally, SHE Teams have been assigned to ensure the immersion program proceeds smoothly and without interruptions. The entire event is also being closely monitored through CCTV cameras," he added.
