Telangana Political Joint Action Committee chairman M Kodandaram on Friday said that the battle for Telangana has reached its last stage, and that the formation of a separate state is inevitable.
Talking to reporters after holding a meeting with BJP state president G Kishan Reddy and other leaders at the state BJP headquarters at Nampally, Kodandaram said that efforts to bring all pro-Telangana forces on one stage are on. He said that he discussed the propoosed "Chalo Assembly" agitation program with the BJP leaders and sought their support for the same.
Kodandaram said the "Chalo Assembly" agitation would be organized on a large scale, and that its impact would be felt both by the central and state governments. He said that the BJP, TRS and CPI have already expressed their support for the agitation.
Addressing the media, Kishan Reddy demanded that the Congress-led UPA government introduce Telangana Bill in the monsoon session of Parliament. Warning that the next phase of the statehood agitation would be more intense, he said that efforts should be made to ensure that a Telangana state becomes a reality before 2014.
Former Union ministers Bandaru Dattatreyya and Ch Vidyasagar Rao, former MLA N Indrasena Reddy and other BJP leaders also took part in the meeting. (INN)
