Telangana Political Joint Action Committee chairman M Kodandaram, on Tuesday, announced that the JAC would organise peace rallies across the Telangana region from August 16, demanding the hastening of the process of formation of a Telangana state.
Talking to reporters, Kondandaram said that the peace rallies would be followed by a relay hunger strike at Indira Park from August 17. A massive peace rally will also be organised in Hyderabad, he said.
A memorandum will also be served to Chief Secretary Dr. P K Mohanty, requesting him to speed up the process of Telangana formation.
Kondandaram said that the
indefinite strike launched by the Andhra Pradesh Non-Gazetted Officers Association and other Seemandhra employees is unconstitutional and unethical.
He also condemned the
wives of Seemandhra ministers and legislators who mer Governor E S L Narasimhan, for "trying to obstruct the formation of Telangana". (INN)
