The Telangana Political Joint Action Committee chairman Prof M Kodandaram on Monday announced that the proposed Telangana March (Chalo Hyderabad) would be held at Tank Bund and Necklace Road on September 30.
Talking to media persons after emerging from the TPJAC Steering Committee meeting at TNGO Bhavan at Nampally, Kodandaram said that there would be no compromise on organising the Telangana March. He assured that the March would be peaceful, and that the government would have to give permission for the same.
He said that the JAC has coined another name, "Sagara Haram", for the March.
Kondandaram said that the JAC would organise the March whether or not the police gave permission. He said that the route map for the March would be given to the police for security arrangements.
He also set a deadline of September 29 for the Ministers in the State Cabinet to get a favourable statement from the Centre over the Telangana statehood issue. If the Ministers failed to do so, he asked them to participate in the Telangana March.
The JAC chairman also warned the government of serious consequences if it arrested the leaders or made efforts to dilute the agitation.
TNGO Employees JAC leaders Devi Prasad and Srinivas Goud, and former leader Swamy Goud participated in the Steering Committee meeting. (INN)
