Ministers from the Telangana region, on Friday, had a meeting with Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy at his camp office, over giving permission to the Telangana March.
According to sources, Kiran Kumar Reddy reportedly asked the Telangana ministers to prevail upon the Telangana Political Joint Action Committee to defer the Telangana March since Ganesh immersion and the International Conference on Biodiversity were on September 29 and October 1.
He is also said to have told the ministers that it would not be possible to give permission for the Telangana March on Tank Bund and Necklace Road since the Ganesh immersion would take time.
According to reports, Kiran Kumar Reddy reminded the ministers of the violence that had taken place during the Million March in 2011. He also charged the Telangana ministers with the responsibility of prevailing upon the TPJAC to either postpone the march or change its venue.
After the meeting, the ministers proceeded to hold consultations with the TPJAC over the issue.
Out of 15 Telangana ministers, four ministers - Danam Nagender (Labour), M Mukesh Goud (Marketing), Ponnala Lakshmaiah (IT) and Ramireddy Venkata Reddy (Horticulture) - did not turn up for the meeting. (INN)
