Cases On T Students To Be Lifted

The government will withdraw of police cases against Telangana students in 2 to 3 days.
Hyderabad | 23rd February 2012
Minister for Law & Courts Erasu Prathap Reddy, on Thursday, stated that the government would complete the process of withdrawing of police cases against students and other activists, who took part in the statehood agitation, in 2 to 3 days.

Talking to media persons at the Assembly media point, the Law Minister said that the government has already taken back 500 cases on students, and that it had issued a GO in this regard. He said that the remaining 200 cases would be withdrawn soon.

He said that the matter was delayed as the government was to issue orders after studying them on a case-by-case basis.

However, the process of withdrawing all the remaining cases would be completed within 3 days, he stated.

He appealed to students to prepare for their examinations and not worry about the cases.

Erasu said the decision to withdraw the police cases on students was taken after consulting Home Minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy. (INN)
