Panchayat Raj Minister K Jana Reddy on Tuesday appealed to Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy to lift all police cases against the employees from the Telangana region who had participated in the general strike during the statehood agitation.
In a letter written to Kiran Kumar Reddy, a copy of which was released to media, Jana Reddy appealed to the Chief Minister to lift all police cases against employees and students filed during the agitation period. He also urged the Chief Minister to fulfill all the promises made by the government to the Telangana employees during the agitation.
Jana Reddy said that he would go to New Delhi after the completion of monsoon session of Assembly and prevail upon the Centre to resolve the Telangana statehood issue on priority basis. He admitted that the delay in resolving the Telangana issue would further complicate the matter.
In the letter, Jana Reddy also raised the issue of injustice meted out to the Telangana region in the allotment of medical seats. (INN)
