Telangana leader Nagam Janardhan Reddy has stated that he would support the no-confidence motion in the Assemnly, whether or not the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) issues a party whip regarding the same.
However, he was also quick to add that he did not have faith in the no-confidence motion. He stated that the people of Telangana had lost their confidence in both the Congress and the TDP, and that the outcome of the motion would have no effect on the people of Telangana as it was nothing more than an eyewash.
Nagam said that he would vote against the Congress only because he believes it is a corrupt government.
Moving on to the Telangana issue, Nagam clarified that he would not quit the TDP to join any other party. He stated that he would fight for the cause of Telangana with a T flag flying at his events.
He also revealed that a Telangana Nagara would be conducted in Adilabad on June 13th.
He lambasted TDP MPs for not reacting to Naidu's statements that allegedly showed that the TDP president leans towards a Samaikya Andhra. He charged that Naidu had stated that "it is necessary to protect the interests of Andhra Pradesh", and demanded that the TDP MPs attend the Nagara on the 13th to explain the necessity.
Addressing the issue of the appointment of a speaker on June 4th, Nagam said that the people want a Telangana speaker for the Telangana Assembly, and that employing a Telangana politico as the speaker for the AP Assembly would not water down the statehood agitation.
