Notice To Krishank Manne Is Political Vendetta: BRS

The BRS today termed the notice issued to its social media convenor Krishank Manne by the Madhapur police as an act of political vendetta, and condemned the police action and demanded that such politically motivated tactics be stopped immediately.

The notice, dated April 1, 2025, was issued under Section 35(3) of the BNS for alleged offences under IPC sections 504, 505(2) and 505(1)(b). It pertains to a complaint lodged on March 31, 2024, by Telangana Congress Committee Senior Vice President Kumar Rao, accusing Krishank of posting a provocative tweet.

Responding to the notice, Krishank denied any involvement, and said, "I didn't even post anything related to this case. This is clearly an attempt to intimidate me."

He also criticised the authorities for their alleged carelessness, and said, "The earlier case came from Gachibowli, and now this one is from Madhapur. Both notices were drafted so poorly that they even refer to me as 'soda media convenor' instead of 'social media convenor'. Are these notices being prepared in the Chief Minister's Office?"

Krishank also expressed frustration over the "repeated demands" for his mobile phone. "Last year, I already submitted one phone at Madhapur. Now they want it again, while the Gachibowli police are also asking for it. What do they expect - should I submit the battery in Madhapur and the display at Gachibowli? This is absurd. It's clearly political harassment."

He also alleged that the cases were being used to divert attention from more pressing issues. "Unlike this government, which is busy filing false cases, I'm working on real issues - like the Group-1 Mains Exam discrepancies and the Rs 5,000 crore MoU and 60-acre land allotment to a fraudulent company, URSA Clusters. We've been questioning these deals. These notices are nothing but distractions," Krishank said.
