After Nagam Janardhan Reddy's Telangana Nagara and the Telangana Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Forum's Telangana Ranabheri, it is now the turn of the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) Telangana Poru to raise a hue and cry over the Telangana issue.
On the eve of the Telangana Poru that will be conducted by the BJP in Karimnagar on Tuesday to mount pressure on the government to introduce the Telangana Bill in the Parliament, the party is leaving no stone unturned to attract the masses to attend its event.
A BJP embossed van reportedly toured Adilabad, asking the people to attend Telangana Poru and send out a strong message that the people are in favour of a separate Telangana.
BJP leaders on Sunday took out a bike rally in Adilabad to create awareness about the meeting. BJP, Adilabad, Unit President Ravula Ramnath had requested the public to make Telangana Poru a success.
Senior BJP leader Sushma Swaraj is scheduled to lead a car rally from Hyderabad to Karimnagar on Monday to promote the Telangana Poru meeting.
The Telangana Poru meeting, said BJP members, intends to show that the demand for the Telangana statehood is deep-rooted and that a separate state is indeed the desire of the people. The BJP leaders also maintained that it was their party alone that truly backed smaller states.
Telangana Poru is expected to discuss the current political situation in the state, and chart out a course of action to be adopted by the party if the Centre refuses to introduce the Telangana Bill in the monsoon session of the Parliament.
