Polling in the much-awaited Telangana MLC elections for six MLC seats in four districts - Mahabubnagar, Rangareddy, Nalgonda and Khammam - ended peacefully.
Polling in the much-awaited Telangana MLC elections for six MLC seats in four districts - Mahabubnagar, Rangareddy, Nalgonda and Khammam - ended peacefully on Sunday.
The polling started in the morning at 8am and closed in the evening at 4pm.
In the Rangareddy district elections were held for two MLC seats. Five candidates were in the fray. The Election Commission had set up five polling booths in the district. The polling percentage in the district was 99.7, with 769 of 771 voters utilizing their franchise.
In Mahabubnagar, too, five candidates were in the fray for the two MLC seats, and the EC set up five polling stations. The voting percentage was 99.7 here, too, as 1,257 of 1,260 voters cast their votes.
In the Nalgonda district, the percentage of votes was 99 - 1,100 of 1,110 voters cast their votes.
In the Khammam district, 19 candidates were in the fray for the lone single MLC seat. The Election Commission set up four polling stations. The polling percentage was 95.72 - 694 of 725 voters cast their votes.
The counting of votes will take place on December 30.
