Telangana: Seven Newly Elected MLCs Take Oath
BRS MLC Dasoju Sravan, elected under the MLAs' quota, is expected to take his oath at a later date.

Seven newly elected Members of Legislative Council (MLCs) were sworn in at the Telangana State Legislative Council today.
In the recent MLC elections, a total of eight members were elected under the Graduates, Teachers and MLAs quotas. However, only seven of them took the oath on this occasion. Sources from the BRS indicated that Dasoju Sravan Kumar, elected under the MLAs' quota, is expected to take his oath at a later date.
The oath-taking ceremony was administered by Legislative Council Chairman Gutha Sukender Reddy.
Those who were sworn in included Congress leaders Vijayashanti, Addanki Dayakar and Shankar Naik, and CPI leader Nellikanti Satyam - all elected unanimously under the MLAs' quota.
The BJP's Anji Reddy elected from the Karimnagar graduates' constituency and Malka Komaraiah from the teachers' quota; and PRTU candidate Sripal Reddy who won the Khammam teachers' constituency MLC seat, also took their oaths.
The ceremony was attended by ministers Sridhar Babu and Uttam Kumar Reddy, Union minister Kishan Reddy, Rajya Sabha MP Dr K Laxman, MP Raghunandan Rao, former minister K Jana Reddy and several other legislators.
