The Telangana Political Joint Action Committee, on Wednesday, launched a bus yatra to create awareness regarding the prevention of suicide by students and youth for the cause of statehood.
Talking to media persons after flagging off the bus yatra at Gun Park, JAC chairman M Kodandaram said that the Congress and the Telugu Desam Party have the responsibility of stopping suicides by making their respective stands on Telangana statehood clear.
If both the parties make their stand clear, students would not end their lives, and would pursue their studies peacefully, Kodandaram opined.
He said that the bus yatra would cover 10 districts in the Telangana region, and would conclude on 22 April. On the first day, the bus yatra would cover Vikarabad, Tandur, Parigi and Chevella.
Employees JAC leaders Swamy Goud and Srinivas Goud were also present in the program.
Earlier, JAC leaders paid floral tributes to those who died allegedly for the cause of a separate Telangana, at the Martyrs Memorial. (INN)
