Osmania Student Commits Suicide Over Telangana Issue

A student of the Osmania University, Bandaru Srinivas, commits suicide, allegedly over his frustration at the delay in the formation of a separate Telangana state.

An engineering student of Osmania University committed suicide, on Saturday, apparently due to the frustration over the delay in the formation of a separate Telangana state.

The deceased, who has been identified as Bandaru Srinivas, was found hanging from a tree opposite the library building in the OU campus. Srinivas hailed from Mahabubnagar district.

Police reportedly found a suicide note wherein he stated that he was depressed due to the delay in formation of Telangana State.

The OU police later shifted the body to the Gandhi Hospital mortuary where an autopsy was conducted.

TPJAC chairman Prof M Kodandaram, BJP State President G Kishan Reddy, TNGO leader Srinivas Goud and some other leaders visited the hospital to pay their last respects to Srinivas. (INN)
