The Telangana government today issued orders passing about 5.3 lakh 10th class students of 2019-20 without examinations, due to the coronavirus problem.
In the orders, Special Chief Secretary (Education) Chitra Ramachandran said that all the students - regular, private, ZPHS, aided, unaided, vocational and all others - were being declared as passed.
On June 8, the KCR government had taken a decision to
cancel the SSC examinations in the state and offer grading based on internal assessments to promote the students to the next level.
Only three exams in two subjects had been conducted, and the rest of the exams were postponed following court orders. On Tuesday KCR decided to cancel them altogether.
There are a total of 5,34,903 10th class students in the state who were supposed to write 11 exams in six subjects.
