Taking the bull by its horns, TDP MLA Motkupalli Narasimhulu on Saturday created a commotion when he went to Gun Park here with a rope and challenged TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao to come for an open debate on Telangana or participate in a mass suicide program.
After some high drama and a media briefing, Narasimhulu was taken away by the Nampally police as a precautionary measure. Some other TDP leaders, too, were taken into custody.
The TDP-TRS war has heated up, with Narasimhulu challenging KCR to accept his own version of "being a true son of the soil" and come for an open debate or participate in the proposed mass suicide program to achieve statehood.
The TDP legislator charged KCR with playing with the lives of nearly 700 innocent lives and "mortgaging" the self-respect of Telangana to the Delhi durbar.
He alleged that KCR had put family interests before statehood, and that his family had amassed nearly Rs. 50,000 crores in the name of the Telangana agitation.
"He sold out the Telangana interest in Delhi," he said.
He asked KCR why he was silent and "hiding" in a farmhouse when the 45-day winter session of Parliament is going on.
The previous edition of Telangana agitation went down the drain because Chenna Reddy betrayed the people in the 1969 agitation which claimed 400 lives, he said.
As a precautionary measure, the police also took into custody Telangana leaders Errabelli Dayakar Rao, Tandur MLA Mahender Reddy, G Kamalakar Rao, former Mayor T Krishna Reddy, and other MLAs and party workers. (INN)
